A visionary who balances strategic thinking with a deep understanding of execution, ensuring her team is always aligned with company goals.
I've spent 12+ years doing the hardest version of this job.
First marketing hires. Full rebuilds. Series A rounds. Record growth years. Teams of zero to ten.
I've been in the weeds and in the boardroom, and I know what it takes to make marketing actually drive a business forward.

Who I am
I'm Angela Heald, a marketing leader based in British Columbia with over 12 years of experience building and running marketing functions across agency, B2B SaaS, and consumer tech.
I've joined companies as their first marketing hire, built teams from nothing, scaled through Series A rounds, and rebuilt marketing orgs after near-total turnover. I've worked at every stage and I know what each one actually needs — not in theory, but from having lived it.
The best moments of my career haven't been the growth numbers or the launches. They've been the marketers who told me I changed the trajectory of their career. That's what I'm chasing when I show up for a team.
I work fractionally because it lets me do the work I'm best at, with the teams I can make the biggest difference for, on my own terms. I work with a small number of clients at a time and I choose them as carefully as they choose me.
How I think about marketing leadership
If my team is falling short, so am I. Full stop.
I share ownership of results with my team fully and equally. When things are falling short, that's on both of us. Saying so out loud changes everything about how a team shows up.
Great marketing leadership isn't just about strategy decks and channel expertise. It's about building the conditions for people to do their best work. Clear direction, honest conversations, high standards, and enough psychological safety to try things that might not work.
Part of how I lead is staying analytically close to the work even when I'm not doing it myself. Connecting dots across channels, data, and team output that are easy to miss when you're in the weeds. Nobody on my team is ever surprised at a performance review. And when someone grows into a marketer they didn't know they could be, that's the part no one puts in a brief but everyone remembers.

How I got here
- July 2025 – Present
Fractional Head of Marketing
After 12 years building and leading marketing functions inside companies, I started working fractionally to do the work I'm best at across a broader range of teams. I work with a small number of clients at a time, embedded and accountable, bringing senior marketing leadership to companies that are ready for it but not ready to hire it full time.
